I love being mom

This a.m. I was taping the ankle for my ride. It's doing great. Had an awesome run yesterday. I was so excited. I had to see what it felt like to feel some wind in my face at the end of my run. Incredible. Enjoyed running again.

Jim and our 14 yr old were still asleep. But, Emma walked up and said, "Can I help you tape it?"

"Sure! "

"You're so lucky you didn't have a cast," she said as she held my toes. 8 yr old girls love to help do lots of stuff, even hold toes. Mine were clean.

You could have hit me over the head with a hammer. How in the world could I ever have been whining all this time? Emma had been in a cast at the beginning of the school year, gone thru PT twice a week. She's a tuff cookie. The doc didn't even believe that she had 2 broken bones on the top of her foot until he saw the x-ray. We noticed how she ran. It just wasn't right. But, she tolerated the cast when all her friends got to run and play. This was before I started training for my tri. She loved PT because she got to take off her brace and do crazy stuff. But, she hated not being able to do all the stuff her friends got to do while in a CAST.

Me, I just had to wait a little while AND I got to bike and swim. I learn more from my kids and husband than any other human being in the world. Their hugs are the greatest. Their kisses "good-bye" and "hello" can make my day.

And, by the way, I love raising daughters. It is a great gift. Abby, you amaze me with how much you love to cook things all by yourself from scratch. The box just doesn't "cut it." You spend hours creating things. We love to see what you come with. I need to learn how to fix my computer without saying, "ABBY, I need you!!!!" when Daddy is away.

Kids just have their own things. It's innate. And they simply amaze me!

Enjoy the day.
Christy
