OH MY LUH-Word!

I say that with the utmost respect. Last night was group ride. I'd already swum while the kids were at school, was late meeting my tri friend at the pool. But, she was happy because I saw the chiropractor! That man dug into my sciatic nerve. Said, "That was our slow start for tri-training treatment." Starting off slow is good for me. He is very observant.

Swim was a tuff workout, but, as one of my teammates asked me, "Was it the best or worst part of the day?" It was the best part thus far. Stressful day!

We had a crazy bike workout AND it was out east. The significance of that is THE winds. They come down the mountains and gain momentum over the eastern plains. They weren't the most fierce I've ever faced but, we had to pedal a high cadence. In other words, we had to go fast - a first at that consistent pedal stroke for me.

I thought I'd crash at the first high speed go-round. I let go of that thought, enjoyed pushing hard on my bike. I did it. I did something new on my bike AGAIN. Truth, the more laps we did, I really got in to the workout. At the end, I just played on my bike and didn't care what anyone else was doing. I got used to doing all sorts of STUFF, just me and my bike. I love the bike most of all.

We were all supposed to get busted by the coach and change a flat in the middle of our workout. I missed that day and we ran out of time last night. I was teaching Emma how to ride on technical group night. I don't regret it one bit. She came home from school determined, asking me to teach her how to ride. So I chose to skip that group ride. In her homemade Mother's Day card it was one of the most favorite things she talked about over and over again. She drew so many pictures of that night. In the card they also asked the kids a question. "What are you proud of your Mom.... " Do you know what she said? "I am proud of my Mom for facing her fear of swimming." Our kids watch. Don't they? I love my husband and kids more than they could ever imagine, even on the hard days.

Enjoy your day.

Jim, can't wait to see you today. We've missed ya.
Christy
