Body Work and Triahtlon

When titling a blog such as "bodywork," a writer has to be careful or you get all sorts of weird emails you don't want :) Fortunately, they get blocked. Jeez, what a starter, huh?

My body quickly informed me that there was more than proper nutrition needed for its care in this sport. Most athletes get sport's massage on a regular basis. It works for them. The hour massage doesn't do the trick for me. I've tried different people. Just doesn't work. I tried "dry needling." Personally, it didn't work for me down the road.

The best thing for me has been chiropractic. I believe that I have the best chiropractor in town. My husband agrees. He goes, too. I have numerous friends that see him. You actually get a real sport's massage prior to treatment (about 10 minutes long.) You're not placed on a rolling table. Then you get treatment. It's the most hands on care I've ever received in "the biz." And, every patient receives it. If I referred you to him, you'd get the same care, athlete or not. He even fixed the inflammation from the dry-needling.

So, I guess the deal is, you have to find what works for you. When you do, stick with it.

I know it's another expense. But, his costs are much more reasonable than others. Sometimes you aren't paying for what you get. They are simply dressing the part. Go by word of a trusted mouth! However, what works for your friends may not work for you. Keep looking.

Healthy Training,
Christy
